The Cyprus Statistical Service (CYSTAT) recorded an annual price index rise of 10.73% in construction materials in February 2023 compared with the same month in 2022.
At a price index of 136,10 units (base year 2015=100), CYSTAT also recorded an increase of 0.06% from January to February.
In the graph above, we observe the recorded price index of construction materials rose rapidly in the first quarter of 2022 and then leveled out around the 132-135 mark from June until December. The start of 2023 saw a jump in January to 136.01 and continued to rise slowly in February to 13.10.
Compared to February 2022, the index recorded rises in minerals (26,23%), mineral products (15,69%), metallic products (3,97%), products of wood, insulation materials, chemicals, and plastics (9,87%), and electromechanical products (7,85%).
