The Cyprus Statistical Service (CYSTAT) recorded an annual price index rise of 12.65% in construction materials in November 2022 compared with the same month in 2021.
At a price index of 133,94 units (base year 2015=100), CYSTAT also recorded a decrease of 0.58% from October to November.
In the graph above, we observe the recorded price index of construction materials rose rapidly in 2021 and the first quarter of 2022 and then leveled out around the 132-135 mark over the rest of the year. The most significant leap was recorded between March and April of 2022, with a 5.6 % (7.04 units) increase in the price index in one month.
Compared to November 2021, the index recorded rises in minerals (13,25%), mineral products (13,19%), metallic products (12,80%), products of wood, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics (12,16%), and electromechanical products (11,54%).
